COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The following is the final University of Maryland football team practice report from August camp. The Terps broke camp today, August 21, and now begin preparations for their season opener one week from today.
The Terrapins open their '03 campaign on Thursday, August 28th at Northern Illinois in a game that will be nationally televised by Fox Sports Net (locally on NewsChannel 8 in D.C. and CN8 in Baltimore) before heading to Tallahassee, Fla., for their Atlantic Coast Conference opener at Florida State.
First Taping of Friedgen Show Tomorrow
Tomorrow, August 22nd, the first edition of the "Ralph Friedgen Show" for 2003 will be taped and Terrapin fans are welcomed to attend.
The show, which will air Wednesdays (10:30 p.m.) and Fridays (7:00 p.m.) on Comcast SportsNet, will be taped at the Outback Steakhouse at Prince George's Plaza in Hyattsville, Md., at Noon. Voice of the Terps Johnny Holliday, now in his 25th season at Maryland, hosts the show.
Pair of Terps End Up on Watch Lists
In the last week, another pair of Maryland players joined the long list of players to watch in 2003.
Placekicker Nick Novak was placed on the "watch list" for the Lou Groza Award, an honor given to the nation's premier kicker. And looking to make it two-in-a-row for Maryland, Leon Joe was placed on the "watch list" for the Butkus Award, given to the nation's top linebacke r (last year's recipient was E.J. Henderson).

Season Tickets Remain
Though season tickets are moving at a record pace, there over a few thousand remaining for the 2003 season. The Terps open their home season against The Citadel on September 13.
