Softball Open Tryouts Scheduled For Sept. 8

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Calling all softball players! The University of Maryland softball team is holding open tryouts the week of Sept. 8. All full-time (enrolled in 12 credit hours or more) students are welcome to take a swing at earning a walk-on spot on the team. Interested athletes should contact assistant coach Michelle Burrell at 301-405-0521.
Last season, the softball team finished the season with a 27-18 record. The team's .600 winning percentage ranks third-best in the team's nine year history. The Terps play all home games at the Terrapin Softball Complex. The $3.6 million facility located to the right side of the Comcast Center seats over 1,000 fans and contains four batting cages, two bullpens, and underground dugouts.
