MADISON, Wisc. - The Maryland men's basketball team moved to No. 12/12 in the rankings with the release of the Nov. 29 AP and USA Today/ESPN Coaches Polls on Monday evening.
The Terrapins improve their standing from No. 13/14 last week, after they posted a convincing 84-61 victory over then No. 25/24 Memphis in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic.
In all, the Terps could play 12 regular-season games against eight opponents ranked in this week's polls. In the ACC alone, six teams are ranked among the nation's Top 13 in the coaches' poll, and seven teams are ranked in the Top 25.
Maryland meets No. 25/23 Wisconsin on Tuesday as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Terps and Badgers clash for the fourth time in five seasons at 9:30 p.m. on ESPN2, this time as the tournament champions of their respective conferences.
