
Timchal To Be Inducted Into Hall of Fame

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Maryland head coach Cindy Timchal will join seven others into the West Chester University Hall of Fame Class of 2004. A 1976 graduate of West Chester with a degree in health and physical education, Timchal lettered in lacrosse, tennis and track & field. A native of Havertown, Pa., she served as a co-captain of the lacrosse team during her senior year.
The winningest coach in women's lacrosse history, Timchal has guided Maryland to eight national titles, including seven consecutive from 1995-2001 -- the third longest championship streak in NCAA history.
A total of 42 Terrapins have earned All-American recognition under Timchal while a legacy of her former players now patrol the sidelines of their own collegiate programs.
Joining Timchal in the Class of 2004 is Brenda (Ferris) Becker, Louis Dalton, Dave Dougherty, Patricia Ferguson, Josie Harper, Glenn Robinson and Nancy Stevens.
