Head softball coach, Gina LaMandre, has established Maryland Softball as a major competitor at both the regional and national levels. Since the commencement of Maryland Softball in 1995, Coach LaMandre has laid the foundation to a successful program. The two-time All-American pitcher has led the team to many accomplishments in all aspects of the game.

  • 1996: Pitching staff led NCAA with lowest combined ERA at 0.82.
  • 1997: Fastest team to enter Atlantic Coast Conference and win league championship.
  • 1999: Season record of 59 wins.
  • 1999: ACC Conference Champions and berth to the NCAA tournament.
  • 1999: Finished the season ranked 12th in the nation.
  • 2002: Completion of a 3 million dollar state of the art softball complex.
  • 1996, 1997, and 1999: NFCA Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year.

    Throughout each season, Terrapin players dominate their conference and region, shattering records for wins, runs scored, hits, RBIs, overall team and individual batting averges, home runs, sacrifices, extra-base hits, pitching victories, and strikeouts.

    2004 Camp Dates
    Commuter and Residental Camp: Ages 10-18
    July 11-15 (Check-in will be between 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 11)
    (Check-out will be between Noon-2 p.m. on Thursday, July 15)

    Camp Features
    Top level collegiate coaches and current and former Maryland players will teach you the proper skills and drills that will help you improve your softball abilities. The program will include pitching, defensive and offensive instruction, specific position instruction, mental training and important recruiting and scholarship information.

    Camp Objectives
    Gina LaMandre's Softball Camp will be operated to meet individual needs based on a player's age and abilities. The camp will focus on teaching hte most effective pitching, hitting, and defensive mechanics while encompassing competitive drills that are fun and motivating.

    Meals and Housing
    A University of Maryland residence hall will be used to house the campers and will be supervised by camp counselors and coaches. All meals will be served in the campus dining hall and commuter campers will join residential campers for lunch and dinner.

    Tuition
    Deposit: To reserve your space in camp, you may either pay in full or place a $100 non-refundable deposit. If you choose to make a deposit please note that the remaining balance will be due by June 15. Please inquire about university, family and team discounts..

    Note: When your camp registration fee and/or deposit is received, you will be sent a confirmation via e-mail. All other necessary camp information, including what to pack, registration hours and directions, will be sent approximately three weeks prior to the start of camp.
