Terp Fans Can Enter Gary Williams Look-Alike Contest

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Think you have what it takes to be the head coach of the Maryland Terrapins men's basketball team?
With Midnight Madness and the start of the 2004-05 basketball season just a few weeks away, Terrapin fans of all ages are invited to participate in the first-ever Gary Williams Look-Alike Contest.
Fans who wish to participate should e-mail their digital look-alike photos to garywilliamslookalike@umd.edu by Oct. 10, 2004, to be eligible. The best impressions of the Terps' head men's basketball coach will advance to the finals, where they will compete at Maryland's annual Midnight Madness Celebration. The event will take place on Oct. 15 at Comcast Center.
The finalists will be informed by Maryland Sports Marketing by Oct. 11, and will take the floor on the 15th to put on their best Gary Williams performance. Members of the 2004-05 Terrapins will judge the winner, and the master impersonator will take home an autographed team basketball.
The Gary Williams Look-Alike Contest will be one of many features at this year's Midnight Madness Celebration, which marks the beginning of the 2004-05 men's and women's basketball seasons. Event details, admission information and a complete Midnight Madness schedule is posted on umterps.com.
