Maryland will face Arkanas in the third round of the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. (EST)...The Terps defeated host Chaminade, 98-69, in second-round action to advance to the 5th-place game...Maryland lost to No. 8 Gonzaga in the first round, 88-76, marking the first time the Terps had lost an opening-round game in three trips to the Maui Invitational...Maryland is making its 7th trip to the Islands, including the Maui Invitational in 1994 and 2000...Maryland is 1-1 all-time vs. Arkansas, but has not faced the Razorbacks since 1988 - a 73-68 Hogs win.

Maryland 98, Chaminade 69

Lee Mayberry paced the Razorbacks with 19 points and 5 assists, while Keith Wilson added 14 and Todd Day scored 12. Arkansas hit 8-12 three-pointers. John Johnson led the Terps with 22 points, while Jerrod Mustaf added 18 points and 6 rebounds. Maryland won the initial meeting with the Razorbacks, 88-61, on Dec. 30, 1987 at Cole Fieldhouse.

    Arkansas in the Maui Invitational
    The Razorbacks defeated Kansas in a thrilling second-round matchup, 65-64, to advance to today's 5th-place game. Ronnie Brewer paced Arkansas (2-1) with 23 points, while Donnell Jefferson scored 13 (5-6 FG) with 5 assists and 4 steals. The Razorbacks hit 5-10 three-pointers and scored 21 points off 16 Kansas turnovers. Arkansas blocked back-to-back shots in the final 15 seconds by Kansas which would have won the game, including one by sophomore center Steven Hill at the buzzer. The Razorbacks opened the Maui Invitational with a 77-68 loss to No. 3 UConn. Arkansas trailed by 15 in the second half before rallying to pull within 3 with 5:38 to play. Brewer paced the Hogs with 25 points and 6 steals.

    Last time against the SEC
    Maryland lost its last meeting with a SEC team when the Terps lost to South Carolina, 75-67, in the semifinals of the 2005 Postseason NIT. Travis Garrison, Chris McCray and Mike Jones each scored 15 to lead the Terps.
