COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland men's basketball team is guaranteed home-and-away matchups with Duke and Virginia for the next three seasons, according to the scheduling plan released Thursday by the Atlantic Coast Conference. The conference portion of the schedule from 2006-2008 names the Blue Devils and Cavaliers as the Terps' primary partners, ensuring the continuation of both rivalries with a guaranteed pair of regular-season matchups each year.

In addition to assigning each team primary partners for locked-in home-and-away series, the ACC's schedule plan divides each school's additional league opponents into three groups of rotating partners. Three of those opponents will be engaged in home-and-away series as well, three will be played only at home, and three only on the road. The rotating groups alternate over the course of the next three seasons.

The ACC's schedule model assures that over the next three seasons each institution will meet every primary partner six times, and each rotating partner four times.

In 2005-06, the Terrapins will face primary partners Duke and Virginia at home and on the road, and will also engage in home-and-away series with North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Miami. Maryland faces Wake Forest, Boston College and Virginia Tech at home, and NC State, Florida State and Clemson on the road.

In 2006-07, the Terps play Duke, Virginia, NC State, Florida State and Clemson home and away, meet North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Miami at home, and face Wake Forest, Boston College and Virginia Tech on the road.

In 2007-08, Maryland meets Duke, Virginia, Wake Forest, Boston College and Virginia Tech both at Comcast Center and on the road. The Terps face NC State, Florida State and Clemson at home as well, while taking on North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Miami at away venues.
