Head Coach Gary Williams
On Sterling Ledbetter:
"I like what he's doing. He's really become a factor on our team. He's not afraid to be vocal out on the court. Sterling has the ability to pick up other players."
On Miami:
"This is one those games you only get once. We don't play them up here this year. I look at their team and I'm wondering why people underestimated them. When you look at it from Miami's standpoint, the challenge of coming into the ACC is a good way to motivate your players. They've done a good job with that. They're also very athletic."
On reaching the midway point of the ACC schedule:
"This is the type of team that has to do things right. We don't get away with not playing up to our level. I've always felt that you might not play great every night, but you should be able to play at your level every game. That's what we have to do these last eight games."
On John Gilchrist's performance against Clemson:
"John played as hard as he could play. He was trying to score for us. He had good looks, but the ball wasn't going into the basket. He got himself some good looks which is a good sign because he'll make those shots as time goes by."
Junior forward Travis Garrison
On coming off a road loss to Clemson:
"A lot of guys are anxious to get back on the court especially after the loss to Clemson. Everybody has a positive attitude right now and came into practice focused yesterday. We've got to keep it going."
On Miami:
"It's a new team in the ACC. From what I know they are very athletic and a very good team. They will come out anxious since this is their first time facing us in the ACC. We've got to go in focused and compete."
On playing hard for 40 minutes:
"If you don't come out and play hard for 40 minutes in the ACC, it's going to be tough to win games. Every team in the ACC is tough from the top to the bottom, so we've got to come out and play like we know how to play. We're a very good team."
Senior guard Mike Grinnon
On Tuesday's loss at Clemson:
"It just shows how good the league is and how anybody can beat anybody on any given day. We've got to move on to the next game. We're 4-4 in the league heading into the second half of the season."
On the talent of his team:
"We have to look at the big picture. We're not playing the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 teams in the country on their courts in the second half of the season. The sky is the limit with the talent on this team. Last year we showed what we could do when we were all on the same page by winning the ACC Championship. This team has that talent."
