Princeton, N.J. - The Maryland women's tennis team continued its strong play by defeating Penn and Princeton over the weekend. With the wins the Terps have now won six consecutive matches to improve to 6-4 on the season.

On Saturday the Terps defeated the Quakers on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, 5-2. Ramona But topped Yulia Rivelis, 6-2, 6-4. Marianne Baker defeated Michelle Mitchell, 6-4, 6-4. Veronika Subertova got past Shelah Chao in three sets, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4. Neda Mihneva defeated Raluca Ciochina, 6-2, 6-2.

The Terps took all three doubles matches from Penn to win the doubles point. But and Baker teamed up to top Julia Koulbitskaya and Shelah Chao, 8-5. Jennifer Dent and Julia Graca defeated Ciochina and Mitchell, 8-5. Tamar Huppes and Minheva won the last match for the Terps by defeating Kate Williams and Caroline Stanisklawski, 9-7.

Maryland traveled to New Jersey on Sunday to face the Princeton Tigers. The winning did not stop as the Terps won their sixth consecutive match defeating the Tigers, 6-1. The Terps won all three doubles matches from the Tigers to win the doubles point. In singles action, But defeated Jessica Siebel in the number one position, 6-3, 6-1. Dent captured a singles victory by defeating Darcy Robertson in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1. Subertova topped Joanna Roth, 7-5, 6-1. Mihneva got by Laura Trimble, 6-3, 6-3. Huppes closed out the winning weekend for the Terps as she defeated Stephanie berg, 6-3, 6-3.
