12 Terp Gymnasts Selected to EAGL All-Academic Team

March 22, 2005

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Excelling both in the gym and in the classroom, 12 members of the Terp gymnastics squad have been named to the 2005 EAGL All-Academic Team. This amount ties for the most honorees in one year in Maryland gymnastics history, equaling the twelve selected in 1999 and 2004. Two gymnasts, seniors Leah Brill and Mandy Pascual, receive the honor for the fourth time.

In order to be named to the EAGL All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have a grade point average of 3.00 or higher in the two previous semesters, or in the fall semester if a freshman.

The 95 combined recipients from all eight teams marks the highest total in the 10-year history of the EAGL. Student-athletes will be officially honored at this year's annual conference banquet, which will be held Thursday, March 24, in Raleigh, NC.
