Maryland Gymnastics Ties for Second at EAGL Conference Championships

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland Gymnastics squad entered the EAGL Conference Championships averaging the fourth-highest score in the league. The Terps scored their highest total of the season, 195.200 to finish tied for second with West Virginia.
North Carolina finished first, notching a 195.975. NC State finished fourth with a 194.975. George Washington placed fifth with a 194.200. New Hampshire was sixth with a 193.250. Rutgers (192.625) and Pittsburgh (191.100) rounded out the scoring.
Maryland scored season-highs on vault, uneven bars and floor exercise in their best performance of the season. Angie Ferg and Marisa St. Louis led the Terps on vault, scoring a 9.825 and finishing tied for fourth overall. Rachel Martinez added a 9.80 to give the Terps a team total of 48.825.
Leah Brill notched a season-high 9.875 on bars and emerged as an EAGL Champion, tying for first overall with North Carolina's Courtney Bumpers. Rachel Colon and Mandy Pascual added a 9.825 to give Maryland its best total on uneven bars this season and a first-place finish overall (49.050).
Ginny Scott paced the Terps on floor exercise with a 9.850. Scott has been the squad's most consistent performer on floor, tying for fourth overall. Angie Ferg notched a 9.825 and had an excellent meet. Marisa St. Louis added a 9.80 to lead Maryland to a second-place finish on the event. The Terps totaled 48.950, which was their highest score of the season.
