But Earns Third Straight All-ACC Honors

Cary, N.C. - Junior Ramona But was named to the All-ACC tennis team for the third year in a row, as announced by ACC officials. The native of Timisoara, Romania, finished the regular season with a 12-7 singles record, and is currently ranked 47th in the country by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
But put together an impressive year playing out of the no. 1 singles position. She defeated four players ranked in the top 70 of the ITA rankings, to help guide the Terps to an 11-10 record, and a possible NCAA tournament bid. But was named ACC player of the week on April 12th, as she upset Katie Blazak, of Duke, 6-3, 6-2. The victory helped the Terps defeat the Blue Devils, 4-3. It was the first victory for Maryland over Duke since 1985.
Maryland (11-10, 5-5 ACC) will await a possible bid to the NCAA tournament, the field for the tournament will be announced on Wednesday May 4th.
