Pascual Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland Gymnast Mandy Pascual has been named to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America All-District II first team. The award is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Pascual will be added to the national ballot as a candidate for CoSIDA Academic All-America Honors.

Pascual, a redshirt junior from Aiea, Hawaii is a chemical engineering major with a 3.909 GPA. An uneven bar specialist, Pascual placed in the top-three on that event in five meets this season. She was a 2005 NCAA Regional Qualifier and holds the Maryland record on uneven bars (9.925). She has earned first team All-EAGL on uneven bars twice in her career.

This is the third CoSIDA All-District award for Pascual. She is also a four-time All-EAGL Academic member and a three-time NACGC Scholastic All-American. She was recently honored with the 2005 Maryland Academic Achievement award for gymnastics and also won that award in 2004.
