
Baseball Team Honored For Academics

COLLEGE PARK, MD. - Ten members of the baseball team were honored for their academic success at halftime of the football game this afternoon.
Infielder Taylor Baum, outfielder Brian Jarosinski, pitcher Seth Overbey, second baseman Joe Palumbo, pitcher Ben Pfinsgraff, pitcher Mike Sufczynski, pitcher Brad Taylor, first baseman Jordan Wilson, catcher Chad Durakis and second baseman Matt Maropis were among the 371 Maryland student-athletes who were recognized at Byrd Stadium today as members of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll. The honored Terps, who all earned grade point averages of 3.0 or higher, were greeted at the 50-yard line by University President Dr. C.D. (Dan) Mote, Athletic Director Debbie Yow and other school officials.
Last season the baseball team finished 25-31 and advanced to the second round of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament. The Terps' fall season gets underway early next week as the team begins to prepare for the 2006 campaign.
