The Maryland women's tennis team wrapped play at the annual Maryland Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The Terps continued its dominance in doubles action as three doubles teams captured titles in their respective brackets.
Marianne Baker and Ramona But won the Flight A doubles title, they topped Daniela Bercek and Jessi Robinson of Duke, 9-8(4). Neda Mihneva and Julia Graca captured the Flight B doubles title. They topped Marina Chiarelli and Mykala Hedberg of LSU, 8-6. Brooke Rogers and Juliana Naso completed the doubles sweep for the Terps as they won the Flight C doubles title. They topped Aleksandra Cekic and Marjolein Van de Ven of Washington State, 8-4.
Maryland struggled in singles action on the final day. Marianne Baker lost the consolation final of the Flight A bracket to Mykala Hedberg of LSU in three sets, 6-0, 0-6, 7-6(3). Neda Mihneva fell in the Flight B consolation final to Ashley Miles of Yale, 6-4, 3-6, 10-6. Veronika Subertova dropped her Flight B consolation match to Monica Lyskawa of West Virginia, 6-0, 7-6, 7-6. Julia Graca fell in a tough three set battle to Marjolein Van de Ven of Washington State, 7-5, 6-7, 6-1. Juliana Naso topped fellow Terrapin Masha Senic, 6-0, 6-3 in the Flight D bracket to wrap up tournament play.
