COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland men's basketball team will hold a scrimmage open to Maryland students on Wednesday, October 25 at 4:00 p.m. All Maryland students are welcome to Comcast Center.
The Terrapins were picked seventh in the ACC Preseason Poll, released Sunday (October 22). Maryland returns eight letterwinners and six seniors from last year's squad. Head coach Gary Williams, the school's all-time winningest coach, has brought in five talented newcomers for 2006-07.
The Terps will open the season when they host California (Pa.) in an exhibition game on November 1 at Comcast Center. Maryland's first regular season contest is scheduled for November 7 when the Terrapins host Hampton in the opening round of the 2006 2K Sports College Hoops Classic.
