Freshman Ryan Greene comes to Maryland this season from Minnetonka, Minnesota. In high school, he was a part of 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams notching school records. His other high school honors include being named an All-American and being named an Academically Distinguished Student Athlete. Greene answers questions about the upcoming season, his thoughts on Maryland so far and his personal interests.

Question: What is your favorite thing about Maryland so far?

Ryan Greene: The campus.

Q: What do you miss most about home?

Greene: The good food.

Q: What is the biggest difference about Maryland, from your hometown?

Greene: It's a lot warmer here (I'm from Minnesota).

Q: Who is your greatest role model?

Greene: My Dad.

Q: What is something you do before every meet?

Greene: Listen to Chevelle.

Q: Have you ever played any other sports?

Greene: Yes: baseball, football, badminton, soccer, and basketball.

Q: What is your favorite TV show?

Greene: Lost, The Office, and anything related to sharks, crocodiles or alligators on Discovery Channel, Animal Planet or National Geographic.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

Greene: Play guitar and play tricks on my roommate.

Q: What are your goals for the season?

Greene: Top 16 in the 50 free and possibly the 100 free as well.

Q: Give me three words to describe yourself.

Greene: Enthusiastic, Friendly, Adventurous.

Q: If you could meet anyone in the world who would it be?

Greene: David Robinson.

Q: What is the best thing about being a student athlete in college?

Greene: Meeting other athletes.

Q: What has been your greatest athletic thrill?

Greene: Breaking the 28-year-old record on my high school swim team.

Q: What are you most looking forward to about this year?

Greene: Getting 'ultra fast' in the pool!!!

Q: What made you choose to come to Maryland?

Greene: The school, the team, the campus, and the weather.
