Junior Eric Thomasson (Severna Park, Md.) won the 200-yard individual medley with a career-best time of 1:59.71 against UNC during the 2005-06 season. So far this year, Thomasson won the 100 backstroke (53.61) and placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:45.81) in the home opener against Johns Hopkins. Against Duke and NC State, Thomasson placed seventh in the 100 back, fifth in the 200 back, and seventh in the 200 butterfly. Thomasson answers questions on his time at Maryland, the current season and his personal interests.
Q: Who is your greatest role model?
Thomasson: My grandfather.
Q: What is something you do before every meet?
Thomasson: Eat a good meal the night before.
Q: Have you ever played any other sports?:
Thomasson: I played lacrosse for 9 years. I also played baseball and soccer.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
Thomasson: Dumb and Dumber.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
Thomasson: Wakeboard.
Q: What are your goals for the season?
Thomasson: To place top 16 at ACC's.

Thomasson: Jessica Simpson
Q: What is the best thing about being a student athlete in college?
Thomasson: Being a part of the Maryland Athletic tradition.

Thomasson: Being a part of the Maryland program.
Q: What do you see as being your role on the team this season, as an upperclassman?
Thomasson: To be a hard working and motivated example for all members of the team.

Thomasson: History of Rock and Roll.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Maryland?
Thomasson: I've always wanted to be a Terp, now I am one.
Q: How have you grown as a swimmer since you have been at Maryland?
Thomasson: I have gained more knowledge of the sport, and dropped time in almost every event.
