Mary Beth Brown's cross-court kill from Hanson set the tone for Maryland in the beginning of the fourth game. The Terps built a 10-6 lead on kills from Jade Brown and Usher and powerful blocking from Usher and Gillming. Schmelzle's service ace kept the Terps ahead at 12-9, yet kills from Jackie Lucas and Jessica Furlong brought Wake Forest back in the game, tying the game, 18-18. A Wake Forest block of Schmelzle's attack started the momentum for the Demon Deacons as they moved ahead 20-23 on three Terp errors and kills from Mullikin. The Terps were within one at 26-27 and again at 27-28 with kills from Jade Brown, but a kill from Mullikin and a Terp error closed the game, 27-30.
