Maryland Hosts the 2007 EAGL Championships

College Park, Md. - The University of Maryland will host the 2007 East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Championships in the Comcast Center on Friday, March 30, 2007 at 6:00.

The EAGL Championships returns to Maryland for the second time; the first time was in 1999. This championship will the first gymnastics competition held on the main Comcast Center floor.

Information on group ticket sales and the opportunity for USAG club teams to sell tickets as a fund-raiser will be available soon.

On Friday, Dec. 15th, tickets will go on sale through UMD's Ticket Office and prices include:

Adult - $12.00
Senior/Youth (ages 3-17) - $10.00
Student (valid student ID) - $10.00
Family 4 Pack - $32.00 (advanced sales only, offer ends March 29th)
UMD Student - $5.00 (valid student ID required)

EAGL Ticket Order Form

The EAGL championship location rotates among the eight EAGL members: the University of Maryland, the University of North Carolina, NC State, University of Pittsburgh, Rutgers University, West Virginia University, the University of New Hampshire and George Washington University.

The East Atlantic Gymnastics League was formed in July of 1995, when the eight universities banded together to create a conference solely for women's gymnastics teams on the East Coast. In August 1996, the NCAA Council accepted the EAGL as an official affiliated member of the NCAA.

The Terrapin gymnastics team finished fifth at the 2006 EAGL Championship after placing second in 2005.
