COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland Terrapin men's basketball team was named the Team of the Week by Andy Katz of ESPN.com, as well as CollegeInsider.com on Monday (Nov. 20). The Terps were selected as the team of the week after capturing the championship of the Coaches vs. Cancer tournament in New York City last week.
Monday afternoon also marked the Terps' return to the national polls, as Maryland was ranked 24th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll. The Terps were ranked 25th in the Associated Press poll.
It was the first time since January 23, 2006 that the Terps were ranked in both major polls. The Terrapins have been ranked in each poll during the past 14 seasons.
Maryland returns to action on Friday (Nov. 24) when the Terrapins host High Point. The game will tip-off at 1:30 p.m. The contest can be heard on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network, and will be televised locally on Comcast SportsNet.
