The Maryland gymnastics team hosted their annual Red vs. Black Intrasquad meet on Thursday, December 7th. The teams put up 4-5 gymnasts per event with the top three scores counting. Over half of the routines were competed by the "super six" freshmen class, who appeared comfortable and confident in front of the Terrapin Fans. Freshman Brandi George and freshman Margaux Meeks were the night's standouts. George won vault, beam and floor. Meeks won the all-around and uneven bars.

Angela Ferg...giant full - straddle back handstand - toe-shoot to high bar (Great routine for Ferg! clean form and hit handstands)
Margaux Meeks... Schaposchnikova...back giant w/ full turn to a double tuck dismount (stuck)
Michele Brenner...cast to HS w/hop - front giant with ½ turn - Pak salto; double pike dismount
Rachel Colon... back uprise w/ ½ turn - giant w/ ½ turn to Geinger; back uprise w/ ½ turn - straddle back HS (improvised routine, usually competes uprise with full turn to Geinger)
Marisa St. Louis ...uprise to HS, giant full to a Tkatchev (fall) ... Arabian double front dismount (nice, clean form throughout)
Brandi George...Ray to high bar; back stalder - back stalder w/ full turn - straddle back to handstand (this combination is D+E+D and brings in +.8 in bonus)
Candice King ...giant full to a Tkatchev (clean and great height, unfortunately fell); shoot-over to HS; double tuck dismount

Balance Beam
Gretchen Kittelberger...back handspring, back handspring, layout-stepout; switch leap, straddle jump; straddle jump - back tuck open swing-down
Candice King...back handspring - back pike; switch leap - straddle jump; punch front, straddle jump w/ ¾ turn; switch side leap (confident routine with solid landings and great amplitude)
Margaux Meeks...back handspring - layout stepout; straddle jump - tuck jump w/ ¾ turn; gainer layout stepout
Morgan Fishbein...back handspring - back pike; switch leap - back tuck; straddle jump - straddle jump w/ ¾ turn
Michele Brenner...Popa; back handspring layout stepout (fall); switch leap - switch side leap; punch front
Brandi George... George I (gainer front aerial); front aerial - back handspring - layout step-out; George II (gainer side salto), double tuck dismount with only a tiny step! (This was the highlight routine of the night! This routine should contend for the most difficult routine in the country.)
