2007 Printable Maryland Baseball Schedule

The Maryland Terrapins will host 33 games at Shipley Field this season, the most since the 2002 season, as the team released its 2007 baseball schedule today. Among their opponents, the Terps will face eight teams who participated in the 2006 NCAA Tournament, including College World Series runner-up North Carolina. Coming off a season in which the team compiled a 18-10 home record, the 33 home games in 2007 marks the highest total at Shipley Field since 2002, when they won 25 of 33 games in College Park.
The Terps open up their 114th year of play as participants in the Winthrop Challenge for the third straight year. The season begins on February 9 with a contest against the host school at 4 p.m., followed by games against Gardner-Webb and Creighton to round out the weekend. The opening road swing continues with a three-game weekend series as they travel to Orlando to face the University of Central Florida Golden Knights (Feb. 16-18).
Maryland will see the first home action of the season the following weekend, as they host local foe George Washington for a three-game series (Feb. 23-25). Later that week, the team travels to Harrisonburg to take on the James Madison Dukes on Tuesday (Feb. 27) for a 3 p.m. first pitch. Maryland returns home to host Lafayette (Mar. 2-4) and Towson (Mar. 7).
The Terps once again take to the road as they open up conference play at NC State (Mar. 9) before returning home for back-to-back midweek games against James Madison (Mar. 13) and Coppin State (Mar. 14). In their second ACC series, Maryland travels to Coral Gables, Fla., for the first time as they face the Miami Hurricanes (Mar. 16-18). After the road trip, the team begins a six-game homestand, with tilts against Virginia Commonwealth (Mar. 21), Clemson (Mar. 23-25), and out-of-conference opponents William & Mary (Mar. 27) and Coppin State (Mar. 28).
As March comes to a close, Maryland will travel to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech (Mar. 30-Apr. 1). Following a home game against UMBC (Apr. 3) and a quick trip to Baltimore to face Towson (Apr. 4), Maryland hosts Wake Forest (Apr. 6-8). Three days later, the Terps travel to Old Dominion (Apr. 11), then return home to face Boston College (Apr. 13-15) at Shipley Field. The team will then face a pair of in-state opponents, as Maryland travels to UMBC (Apr. 17) before hosting Maryland-Eastern Shore the following day.
Maryland will spend the final days of April traveling, as the Terps face a crucial seven-day road trip. They will visit Duke (Apr. 20-22), West Virginia (Apr. 24), and rival Virginia (Apr. 27-29) before returning home for a nine-game homestand to close the season.
The month of May will be spent at home for the Terps, as they host Towson (May 1), Maryland-Eastern Shore (May 2), Florida State (May 4-6), West Virginia (May 8) and North Carolina (May 18-19). The Tar Heels will come to College Park on the final weekend of the season and the two teams will face off Friday night at 7 p.m., before a doubleheader on the final day.
In addition to a challenging conference schedule, Maryland will face 13 non-conference opponents throughout the season, including four teams from within the state.
