Terrapin Invitational Concludes Day 1

The Maryland women's water polo team faced Navy AC in the first game of the Terrapin Invitational. It was the Terps' first regular-season match-up.
Despite getting down 1-0 within the first 20 seconds of the game, the Terps soundly defeated Navy AC 10-5.
The first period ended 4-2 in favor of Maryland. Navy AC would not score again until 6:32 into the third period after a 6-0 run from the Terps.
Maryland's high scorer was Rachel Jordan with three goals. Juli Jordan added two, and Elizabeth Hopkins, Rebecca Kadushin, Dawn Jackson, Bryndis Klein, and Orsi Ferenczy each netted one.
Navy AC is an accomplished club program coached by Mladen Stanicic, father of Terrapin defender Blaise Stanicic.
In the Terrapins' second game of the day, they defeated California State University at East Bay by a score of 11-4. The Terps went on a 8-0 scoring run beginning at the end of the first quarter.
Rachel Jordan and Elizabeth Hopkins each scored two for the Terps. Bryndis Klein, Allison Kuzniar, Elizabeth Eicks, Juli Jordan, Dawn Jackson, Kerry McFadden, and Orsi Ferenczy added one goal apiece.
Scorers for CSU East Bay were Heather Olejnik and Katie Foley.
Tomorrow the Terps will face Bucknell and Siena.
