Maryland Head Coach Brenda Frese:
On today's game:
"I am extremely proud to look at a box score and see the contributions we had tonight. We were extremely unselfish and to see every player score and have an impact on the game is tremendous. I am very happy about where we are, to finish in the ACC 12-2 says a lot about this team. As a young team, they were not expecting anything from this season and have proven to a lot of people they are a team to reckon with."
On Crystal Langhorne:
"It is a tremendous accomplishment; the exciting thing about Crystal is her unselfishness when she plays. To be able to gain 1,000 points says a lot about her, her work ethic and the tremendous teammates she has around her. It could not happen to a better person."
On the entire team's contribution:
"It says a lot about our team. To have two players break 1,000 this season says a lot about how we share the ball. The last couple of weeks on the road have been a tough stretch so it is nice to see we were able to spread play amongst everyone. Every player on this team works extremely hard, they come to practice and they go after it. It is nice to be able to get the entire bench in."
On Aurelie Noirez's and Jade Perry's performance:
"They really stepped up big. Laura Harper has been out with an illness, so we really wanted to limit her and it was fortunate that we were able to do that. Aurelie [Noirez] and Jade [Perry] really stepped up and played some big minutes and had great contributions. We need that kind of depth to be a championship team."
Sophomore Crystal Langhone:
On becoming the fastest Terp to score 1,000 points:
"I did not know about the record; that really doesn't matter to me. We are winning games right now; we're fourth in the nation, that's really good."
Freshman Marissa Coleman:
On her five 3-pointers:
"I was getting a lot of open looks and my shot was falling. I honestly didn't think all of them were going in, so I just kept shooting."
On Clemson's lack of defense:
"My teammates were setting great screens and getting me open a lot. I credit my teammates more than a lack of defense."
Freshman Kristi Toliver:
On the team's offensive game:
"Something Coach [Jeff] Walz told me before the second half was to be a leader and step up, that's what I tried to do. I did not have the best first half; I let my head get into it. In the second half I tried to get my head out of it and just play."
Clemson Head Coach Cristy McKinney
On the game
"They're a very good basketball team, and if you're going to get yourself into a hole like we did at the beginning of the game, it's going to be very hard to get yourself outplaying a team like Maryland. It's hard to play against a team this good if you're not going to put in the effort, and I don't think we put in the effort needed to win. They're a great team and they shoot it awfully well and even better when you give them great looks. We definitely gave them those great looks."
On the tough road schedule
"I don't think we can use that as an excuse as to why we didn't play hard. We played very hard our last two games at home, like we should. I don't know why we didn't play hard for this game."
On Maryland Freshman Guard Marissa Coleman
"We played like a very unaware basketball team. We knew Marissa was a threat with her shooting. Look at her stats. She shoots the three great. We just weren't aware, and to not be aware of a player that good is scary."
On Clemson's performance
"We told them going into the game that they needed to take care of the ball. The hole we got into at the beginning of the game was because of turnovers. They also put pressure on us, and we didn't handle the pressure."
