Final Stats

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland added another win to their record, beating #59 Penn, 5-2. Before today's win, the Terps were ranked #34. Maryland is now 5-2 and 1-0 in the ACC. Today's match was played the Tennis Center at College Park.

Marianne Baker and Neda Mihneva started things off for the Terrapins, winning their match 8-3. Jennifer Dent and Michal Amir followed in their footsteps, securing a 1-0 lead for Maryland.

Maryland had some trouble in the first set singles. Marianne Baker won her first set, 6-2, but could not hold on, losing 0-6 and then 3-6 in the tie-breaking match. Veronika Subertova also had a little trouble with her match, winning the first set, 6-4 but then falling, 5-7 in the second. However, Subertova turned things around, easily winning the third set, 6-1.

Mihneva and Dent, who played the third and fourth slot for Maryland, respectively, also won their sets, securing a definite win for Maryland.

Going into the last two single slots, Maryland was up 4-1. Michal Amir added another win for Maryland, quickly finishing her opponent, 6-2, 6-2.

Maryland will host a double header tomorrow, playing Old Dominion at 10 and Georgetown at 6.
