COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Three University of Maryland Terrapins were voted to the All-ACC women's basketball team, which was announced on Monday. Sophomore Crystal Langhorne was voted to the first team, while freshman Marissa Coleman and junior Shay Doron were selected to the second team, making it the first time in 17 years three Terps have earned a spot on the all-conference squad. Coleman is also the only freshman in the conference to earn All-ACC honors.

Langhorne (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro) garnered All-ACC nods for the second-straight year after earning a spot on the second team as a freshman while also being named 2005 ACC Rookie of the year. This season, Langhorne earned the third-highest point total, receiving 65 first-team votes, five shy of being a unanimous pick.

The nation's leading shooter, making 66.2 percent of her attempts, Langhorne is third in the ACC in scoring (16.4 ppg) and second in rebounding (8.7 rpg). She leads the league with 12 double-doubles, recording the 30th of her career in the Terps' regular-season ACC finale against Clemson last Thursday (the most of any active ACC player). This season, she has also had eight 20-point games, including two 30-point performances. In the overtime victory at Wake Forest, she had a career-high 34 points, while also grabbing 14 rebounds. A two-time ACC Player of the Week selection, Langhorne collected a season-high 19 rebounds against Florida State, nearly outrebounding the Seminoles on her own. She currently has the second-longest double-figure scoring streak in the league, with 15 games. Langhorne became the 22nd player in school history to reach 1,000 career points, becoming the fastest Terp to reach the milestone (60 games).

Coleman (Cheltenham, Md./St. Johns College [D.C.]) is only the third freshman in school history to be named to the All-ACC team, following in the footsteps of teammates Langhorne and Doron. Langhorne was the previously highest-honored Terrapin freshman last season when she earned a spot on the second team.

Coleman is ranked in seven different statistical categories in the ACC. She is the league's three-point shooting leader, making 50.6 percent of her attempts, and is also ranked 10th in scoring (14.6 ppg), sixth in rebounding (7.5 rpg), 10th in field goal percentage (53.2 percent), seventh in free throw percentage (81.9 percent), 14th in three-point field goals made (1.61 3FGM), eight in blocks (1.54 bpg) and third in defensive rebounding (5.59 def. rpg). Ranked third on the team in scoring, she has recorded eight 20-point games, including a career-high 23 games in the upset of then-No. 1 North Carolina. She also has had six double-doubles, tallying double-digit rebounding efforts nine times.

Doron (Great Neck, N.Y./Christ the King) earns a spot on the All-ACC team for the third-straight year, only the second Terrapin in school history to do so. She was a third-team selection as a freshman and was named to the first team last year.

Doron is second on the team in scoring and is ranked eighth in the ACC (14.8 ppg). This season, she has made better than a 100-percentage point improvement in three-point shooting and ranks seventh in the league, knocking down 42.7 percent of her attempts (compared to nearly 29 percent last season). She is also sixth in free throw shooting (82.0 percent), sixth in assists (4.48 apg) and 10th in three-point field goals made (1.70 3FGM). Earlier this season, she became the 21st player in school history to register 1,000 career points and had previously been the record holder for fastest to reach the milestone, needing just 64 games.

The fourth-ranked Terrapins finished the regular season in a tie for second in the ACC with a 12-2 record, their best showing since tying for second during the 1992-93 season. Maryland enters the postseason with a 26-3 mark, the most regular season victories in program history.

The Terps head to Greensboro, N.C., as the No. 3 seed in the ACC Tournament on Friday, March 3 at 9:30 p.m. Earning a first-round bye, they play the winner of the Miami-Georgia Tech first-round game, which takes place Thursday, March 2. Maryland's quarterfinal game will be televised on the ACC's Regional Sports Network (Comcast SportsNet, Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Florida, New England Sports Network). It can also be heard on the Terrapin Radio Network and online at www.umterps.com.
