Chapel Hill, N.C. - #37 Maryland Women's Tennis Team fell in a tight match against #4 North Carolina, 4-3. Maryland's record is now 9-8, 2-4 in the ACC.

Starting off the doubles matches for the Terps was #13 Ramona But and Marianne Baker. But and Baker fell to #6 Sara Anundsen and Jenna Long, 8-3. #54 Michal Amir and Jennifer Dent defeated their opponents in the second match, 8-7 (0). With the score 1-1 in the doubles matches, UNC grasped the third match against Neda Mihneva and Julia Graca, 8-4.

Behind 1-0, the Terps starting strong in the singles matches. #59 But faced #32 Long. But quickly took the first set, 6-1. After finding some trouble in the second set, But pulled out a victory over Long, 7-6 (5). #91 Baker was also victorious in her match, defeating #58 Caitlin Collins, 7-5, 6-2.

Maryland fell in their next two singles sets. #95 Anundsen defeated Veronika Subertova, 6-2, 6-1. Dent also fell, 6-4, 6-4.

Amir played fifth for the Terps. In quick match, Amir breezed past her opponent, 6-3, 6-1. In the last match for the Terps, Graca fell 7-6 (6), 6-2.

Maryland will be at Duke on Sunday, April 2, to face the Blue Devils.
