ACC Men's Golf Championship Delayed Due to Inclement Weather

NEW LONDON, N.C. - The ACC Men's Golf Championship was delayed several times on Saturday because of inclement weather. Maryland, which fired a 4-under-par 284 and was tied for third after the opening round, was 1-under midway through its second round when play was suspended at the par-72, 7,100-yard course at the Old North State Golf Club in New London, N.C.

Clemson was 17-under for the day when play was called and had a one-shot lead over first-round leader Georgia Tech, which along with North Carolina was 7-under in second-round action. Florida State is tied with Maryland after shooting 2-under midway through round two.

Maryland junior Blaine Peffley is 2-under through nine holes of the second round after shooting a 1-over-par 73 yesterday. Senior John Eades, who entered the day tied for third after firing an opening-round 68, is even in the second round through seven holes. Sophomore Tyler Witman has picked up his play and is 1-under through 10 holes, while Matt Schall and Tully Coyle are two and four-over-par, respectively.
