COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Senior Ramona But of the University of Maryland has been named the East Region Senior Player of the Year by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, the organization announced recently.
But, a native of Timisoara, Romania, was one of eight regional winners named by the ITA. She has played No. 1 singles and doubles for the Terrapins for the past two seasons and is the Terrapins' only four-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference honoree.
She carries a 17-4 record in singles and a 25-5 mark in doubles this season and has led Maryland into its second straight NCAA Tournament as a team. But will also play both singles and doubles in the NCAA Division I Tennis Championships later this month.
