University of Maryland softball player Lindsay Klein was selected to the 2006 All-America First Team by Jewish Sports Review, the publication announced this week. It is Klein's third year in a row garnering a spot on the first team.
The junior starter finished the season with a .282 batting average, 33 RBI, 48 hits and was named a second team All-ACC selection in May. She led the team in doubles with 15 on the year, an average of .30 per game, third in the ACC and second on Maryland's single-season career list. Klein posted three hits and five RBI in the Terrapin's 8-0 win over Brown University on March 28, the most RBI in a game for the Terps in 2006.
The Terrapins finished the season with a 32-27 overall record and seventh in the ACC.

In `06, Klein notched a team-high 15 doubles for the squad, moving her to No. 6 on Maryland's all-time list for doubles in a career.
She was named to the All-ACC Second Team in 2006, the third time she's received All-ACC honors.
One of the most versatile players on the Terp roster, Klein played first base, pitcher and catcher this season.
She started and played in all 59 games for the Terrapins this year.
Klein had two or more hits in 12 games this season and is fifth on Maryland's single-season record list with a .333 batting average.
She posted five home runs on the year, including her 16th career homer in the April 23 matchup against Boston College, for sixth-best in Maryland's all-time career list.
