Braffet Places Second to Lead Terps

The Plains, Va. - Meghan Braffet placed second yesterday at the Great Meadows Invitational to lead the University of Maryland women's cross country team to a second place finish at their first meet of the season.
Braffet ran the 5K race in 18:27:43, while teammate Laurel Jefferson placed fifth with a time of 18:41:05.
The team's 1-5 split was 1:09:14 with Ashley Campbell, Christina Nelson and Erin Matyus placing eighth, ninth and tenth for the Terps.
The team returns to action on September 23 at the Spiked Shoe Invitational in State College, Pa.
