Meghan Braffet and Laurel Jefferson both placed in the top-10 on Saturday to lead the University of Maryland women's cross country team to a third place finish at the Penn State Spiked Shoe Invitational.
Braffet, a redshirt junior, placed third overall with a time of 21:17:05 to lead the Terps, while Jefferson, a senior, ran a 21:36:65 to finish seventh.
Ashley Campbell, Christina Nelson and Kristin Reed place third, fourth and fifth respectively to round out the top-five for the Terps. Campbell finished in 22:25:05, Nelson ran a 22:37:10, and Reed finished in 22:38:85. The team had a 1-5 split time of 1:21:80.
Jillian Sullivan of Connecticut was the individual winner, running a 21:04.90, while Syracuse finished first as a team.
The Terrapin women return to action next week at the Tribe Invitational in Williamsburg, Va.
