College Park, Md. - The University of Maryland kicks off its swimming and diving season with its alumni meet on Saturday afternoon. Former Terrapin coach Bill Campbell will attend, as the 2006-07 Terps will take to the pool for the first time.
The Terrapins, who begin their regular season on October 27 against Johns Hopkins, will participate in the Alumni Meet tomorrow at the Natatorium at the Campus Recreation Center. The meet is a chance for the Maryland swimming and diving alumni to gather and watch this year's team as they begin their preseason preparation.
This offseason saw several successful Terps, including Danny Gray and Tony Miller who, along with former Terp Liz Lavell, performed admirably in the 2006 World Championship Trials at Irvine, Calif. Former coach Bill Campbell will see these swimmers along with the rest of the Terrapin team as they take to the water to start towards their goal of recapturing the Atlantic Coast Conference crown.
