Hey Everyone,
I hope everyone is enjoying their winter so far; I cannot believe that it is January already. Time has gone by so fast and the season has finally begun! We had our first meet this past weekend at home against Towson and UPenn, and it was a great way to start out our season. Unfortunately I was unable to compete this time because of a surgery earlier in the year, but I could not be more proud of my team!
From the moment that we stepped in the gym on Friday, you could tell that the team was excited. Especially the freshmen, since it was their first meet as collegiate gymnasts. The energy throughout the meet was very high and everyone was pumped and ready to go.
There were a couple of little rough spots, but no one gave up, we just kept fighting through. Overall this meet was a great way to start out the season, and get rid of all the first meet jitters and we are very happy to have this as our starting point. Now we can only get better from here.
Nothing compares to competing at home in Comcast, and the fans really turned out to support us for our home opener. We had a little over 800 fans come and cheer us on, and the team really appreciates every one of the supporters. It makes competing at home all that much better. We also had many of the local club gyms come and watch. The clubs that came were Saints Gymnastics, PG Sportsplex, Barlow's Gymnastics, Baltimore County Gymnastics, and Fairland Gymnastics. So thanks to everyone who came out to support us!! We're back in action next Friday for our first travel meet to Pittsburgh against Pitt, West Virginia, and Michigan State, so wish us luck!! Thanks for reading and we hope to see you at our home meets.
