    Hey Everyone!

I hope everyone is doing well and having a great new year so far! We started classes last Wednesday and I still can't believe that spring semester is already here. Everyone worked really hard and had a great fall semester. We had four people receive 4.0's, which was really amazing! I know everyone will be working just as hard this semester, even with season in full swing now.

We just got back from a quad meet with Kentucky, UNC and West Virginia at Kentucky. This week was a definite improvement from last weekend at Pitt. Not only did we improve our performance, but our attitudes, both individually and as a team, were completely different.

Our first event, floor, started off rough, with two falls, but freshman Michele Brenner stepped up and got us going again. After she hit, our energy was up again and we finished the event with four clean hits. Vault and bars were both solid. We did not have to count a fall on either event. Freshman Margaux Meeks put in her half twisting Yurchenko and stood it up, while Brandi George and Angela Ferg did great full twisting Yurchenkos. Bars were awesome, as we hit six for six. Although we had small mistakes here and there, I was amazed at the smart decisions everyone made at the spur of the moment, during their routines. Everyone fought through their routines, doing whatever they had to in order to hit. We ended the meet with some strong beam performances. After two falls, freshman Talia Tossone, put us back on track with a hit and Angela Ferg and Brandi George finished up with two beautiful routines.

Though we came in fourth, our team score went up from last weekend, which we were all happy about. Everyone's performance and attitudes improved as well. Our energy was up throughout the entire meet and we all helped each other to pull through. When people needed to step up and hit, they did. We were really acting as a team this weekend. All the mistakes we made are easily fixed and we are ready to get back in the gym this week and start preparing for an even better performance at Governor's Cup on Friday.

Thanks for reading and thank you for all of your support! We are on the road again this weekend, but we hope to see you all back at Comcast for our next home meet vs. George Washington University on Thursday, February 7th at 7 p.m.
