Maryland Swims Past Johns Hopkins

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland men's swimming and diving team won their season opener against Johns Hopkins, 154-108. The meet took place on Friday, October 26 at the Eppley Recreation Center.

The Terps began the day by taking first place in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Nick Cordes, Eric Cullen, Captain Eric Thomasson, and Andy Dilz finished with a final time of 1:34.19.

Thomasson and Dilz also had first place finishes in the 200-yard butterfly and the 100-yard breaststroke, respectively. Thomasson took first in the 100-yard butterfly with a 52.25 and the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:55.72.

Dilz took the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 57.36 and the 200 individual medley, finishing with a time of 1:54.25.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Kirk Jackson took the top seed with a time of 1:43.42. Jackson also won the 500-yard freestyle for the Terps with a 4:44.88.

The Terps won an impressive nine events to finish the day.

Maryland will host their next meet on November 3 against Duke.
