Hey Everyone!
It's exam week already! Where did the time go? We have all been shifting our attention to school and finishing up the semester in a strong way. The freshman are handling the enormous amount of pressure that comes with finals like pros and are more than excited to be wrapping up their first semester as college students. The coaches have been very helpful in allowing us to practice at times that best fit our individual schedules. They have put a great deal of effort into making the environment as light and relaxing as possible to give us a break from our studying and keep us all as sane as possible during this crazy time. Everyone appears to be doing really well with grades, hopefully keeping us on track to win the President's Cup Award again this year! We are all so excited to finish up our exams and head home for Christmas....except for Michele, she's going to Mexico! We've all been working so hard that we can't wait for a few days off at home before returning on December 28 to finish our last few preparations for the 2008 season.
Also, we held our annual Red vs. Black Intra-Squad on December 7, where our freshman class got their first chance to compete as Terps. We were all surprised to see how much further ahead we are this year compared to last year. The coaches took a different approach to preparing us this year and it's really starting to pay off. We are faster and more consistent; everyone seems to understand what they can contribute to the team and what is expected of them. With such a young team lead by three amazing team captains, the future looks bright for us.
We start our season off at home against Ohio State on January 11 at 7:00 p.m. I can guarantee big skills and lots of energy! I hope everyone is as excited for our upcoming season as we are and I can't wait to see everyone there!
Take care and best wishes,
Talia
