Maryland freshman Brandi George has been named the EAGL (East Atlantic Gymnastics League) Rookie of the Week, announced today by the league. This is the second week in a row that George has received the honor.
George (Orlando, Fla.) earned the title based on her performances at a dual meet in New Hampshire last week. George notched a season-high all-around score of 39.225. She also tied for first on the balance beam with a season-high 9.875 score and tied for second on the floor exercise,9.850.
George is currently ranked third in the individual all-around in EAGL and 33rd nationally. Her average all-around score is 38.575 and she holds a Regional Qualifying Score of 38.445.
The Maryland gymnastics team will host a quad meet with New Hampshire, Temple and James Madison this Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the Comcast Center Pavilion.
