Terps Tumble Talk

Feb. 26, 2007

Hello Everybody!

This past weekend, as I'm sure a lot of you know, was our "Terps For A Cure" meet, where we raised money for the fight against breast cancer. It was really great to have people show up with donations for such an important cause, and stay to support us and watch us go season high with a huge win against UNH, Temple, and JMU!

On Friday we went 194.7 (beating last weekend's 194.55). UNH came here, to our house, to compete against us for the second week in a row, this time we walked away with the big win, followed by Temple in 3rd and JMU in 4th. Terps got a great start hitting some big vaults, and we keep pushing to hit even bigger ones as the season progresses. Then moving to bars, we again showed a solid performance that took us right into beam with confidence. This helped us go season high 48.925- with the help of a number of career and season high individual performances. Picking up momentum as the meet progressed, we then went to our last event, floor, and more individual career high's led the team to earning another season high of 48.75.

With some season experience, and confidence that has come with our success, this team is really starting to step up and show everyone the talent we have. We had great performances this weekend from each and every girl that competed, and we now expect nothing less. The team is learning to feed off one another, which makes us stronger, and helps us to improve every weekend upon the weekend before. We still have room to improve, so keep following us, because there's going to be a lot more to see!!

I am so proud of the underclassmen, stepping up and performing when we need them, and finding that confidence it takes to be a college gymnast week in and week out. I am honored to be apart of such a group of talented upperclassmen, who have gone in and done their jobs, performing well as expected. We continue to work hard in the gym everyday, to build upon the scores we have, and push to get the rankings we deserve.

Again, thank you so much, and stay posted!!

Sincerely, Angela Ferg
