Maryland Head Coach Brenda Frese:
On today's game
"I really liked how we approached today's game. I think we improved and in the big picture, that's what we are striving for. Especially with our defensive intensity from the first half to the second half, I thought we had great focus. We have to have that kind of consistency. We need to climb back up and play for 40 minutes."
On the second half:
"I thought we made a greater commitment to coming out and having a quick start to the second half. We wanted to improve our focus and communication and I thought that happened."
On the team's swagger:
"I think we are slowly starting to get our swagger back. I thought we did a great job getting our teammates open tonight, being unselfish and looking to attack more. I thought we were more aggressive in our press."
Maryland Guard Shay Doron:
On her shooting streak today:
"I had some good looks and some great passes and I took those opportunities to shoot the ball and it went in. I wasn't trying to be any more aggressive than I normally am."
Maryland forward Marissa Coleman:
On learning from past losses:
"None of us like losing and it's not something that we are accustomed to. I think every day we come into practice we're going harder. People say you learn a lot more from losing than you do winning and we have definitely learned a lot from those three losses."
Maryland forward Laura Harper:
On having fun and playing ACC opponents:
"We needed to go out and start having fun again. I think today we started to get back to how we were playing before. It's clear that the ACC is one of the strongest conferences in the country, and every day you know you will face an opponent that can beat you. All the teams want to fight and get their name out there, so it's competitive every day."
Boston College Head Coach Cathy Inglese:
On today's game:
"The good news is that we were getting shots, the bad news is that we couldn't hit. You can't shoot 14% [in the second half] and expect to be in the game."
"We just lost to a good team. If it keeps on going, then yes it concerns me. We just have to make sure that we use this week off to get ourselves back, take more shots at practice, and be ready to play again."
Lesson learned from today's game:
"We did play pretty well for the most part, without Catherine, but we needed to be more patient on the offensive end. We have to box out on the defensive end."
