Terps Tumble Talk

March 18, 2007

Well here we are at the start of our spring break. It's going to be so nice to finally have some rest and relaxation and be able to focus all of our energy into our practices this week. With the last meet of our regular season this Friday in Michigan, we are all pumped and ready to rock!

With being out for the rest of the season due to a tear in my ACL it has been hard to sit on the sidelines, but the way the team has stepped up after my injury has been absolutely phenomenal. It is so great to be a part of a team where we can replace a routine with another routine of the same caliber.

As for the meet on last Friday against Towson and George Washington we all summed it up as being a real fight to the end. We all knew that it wasn't over until it was over, and although we did not come out on top this time, we did pull out a pretty good team score and we all were able to learn from our mistakes. We did have some pretty amazing standout routines of the evening though. Rachel Colon led the Terps on vault, bars, and beam. This was only the second time this season that she competed her vault and it was beautiful. Also, Brandi George wowed everyone with her floor routine scoring a 9.850.

Tomorrow we are all getting up early and heading over to a local elementary school to read to the children and show them a little gymnasticsfº We are all very excited, especially us freshmen because this will be our first time doing this.

Well that's it for now. Thanks for reading and have a great day!!!
