Maryland Finishes Regular Season on the Road

March 21, 2007

The Maryland gymnastics team concludes its regular season at Michigan on Friday. The meet is set for 7:30 p.m. in the Crisler Arena.

No. 11 Michigan is highest ranked team that the Terps have faced all season. As of March 19, Maryland has a Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) of 193.630 and its overall record is 7-12 while the Big Ten Conference member's RQS is 196.060 and record is 10-5.

Maryland may possibly be led by three all-around competitors on Friday: freshman Brandi George, junior Gretchen Kittelberger and senior Rachel Colon. Also this meet serves as a homecoming for freshman Allison Dama who is a native of East Lansing, Mich. Dama was a club member of Geddart's Twistar with Michigan freshman Maureen Moody.

Live stats and video will be available at MGoBlue.com; the video is through subscription to Michigan All-Access.

The last time Maryland and Michigan competed against each other was in a quad meet at Ohio State in 2005 where the Wolverines beat the Terps; Michigan leads their series record is 3-1.

Maryland was defeated by Towson and George Washington last week in a tri-meet at the Towson Center Arena, 194.500 (Towson) - 193.750 (George Washington) - 193.150 (Maryland).

Michigan was topped by Missouri at home last week, 196.675-196.100.

Friday's dual meet and the EAGL Championship next week are the final chances for the Terps to improve the RQS and ranking.
