OMAHA, Neb. - Maryland pitcher Casey Baron was recognized by InsidePitching.com today following his performance this past weekend. After tossing eight scoreless innings in the win over Clemson Friday, he earned Northeast Regional Performance of the Week honors.
The senior lefty came up big for Maryland as they upset #6 Clemson this past Friday. He picked up a career high seven strikeouts in the no-decision. He allowed just four hits and walked only one batter while not giving up a run.
