The Maryland Terrapins close out their six-game homestand with a pair of midweek non-conference contests. On Tuesday, Maryland hosts CAA foe William & Mary, while the Coppin State Eagles return to Shipley Field Wednesday after a 27-0 defeat two weeks earlier. Both games are at 5 p.m. and are free admission. Fans who cannot catch the action in person can listen live on WMUC Sports.
W&M SERIES HISTORY
Maryland leads the all-time series by a 38-12-1 margin (.760).
In their last meeting, the Terps earned an 11-5 victory in College Park in their 2003 regular season finale.
The Terps' last loss to the Tribe came 12 seasons ago, as W&M defeated Maryland 9-8 on May 6, 1995 in Williamsburg.
COPPIN STATE SERIES HISTORY
Maryland leads the all-time series 33-1 (.971).
Two weeks ago, Maryland tied a school record with 25 hits as it defeated the Eagles, 27-0.
SCOUTING THE TRIBE
William and Mary enters today's game with a 15-12 record (8-4 CAA).
The Tribe offense is paced by senior infielder Greg Sexton, who is batting .439 with nine doubles, two triples, six home runs and 31 RBIs, all team highs.
W&M will start freshman lefthander Tyler Truxell, who is 3-2 with a 5.13 ERA. Opposing batters are hitting .300 against him, while he has struck out 18 batters as compared to 16 walks.
