Maryland freshman Brandi George has been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Rookie of the Week, announced today by the league. She shares the honor with North Carolina freshman Kara Wright. George has received the Rookie of the Week honor three times this season; she previously earned the title on February 20 and February 13.

George (Orlando, Fla.) won the all-around title for the sixth time this season at No. 13 Michigan last week. She has competed all-around in all eleven regular season meets.

George is currently ranked third in the all-around within the EAGL and her Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) is a 38.990.

Maryland will host the 2007 EAGL Championship Friday at 6:00 p.m. in the Comcast Center Pavilion.
