
Baseball Hits The Road For Midweek Game At ODU

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland Terrapins split up a two-week homestand with a day trip to Norfolk, Va., Wednesday, as they face Old Dominion University at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on WMUC Sports.
SERIES HISTORY
Maryland trails in the all-time series, 4-7 (.363). Last season, the two teams split their home-and-home games, with the Terps falling in Norfolk, 4-1, before notching a win at Shipley Field, 7-2. Prior to last season, Maryland had not squared off against the Monarchs in 15 years, with their last meeting in 1991.
SCOUTING THE MONARCHS
Old Dominion enters Wednesday's contest with a 23-14 record. The Monarch offense is led by Mike Zahm, who is batting .423 with 18 doubles, three triples and 50 RBIs, all team bests. ODU will start sophomore righthander Dexter Carter, who is 0-4 in nine appearances, with six starts. Carter has a 5.40 ERA, with 32 strikeouts compared to 18 walks.
LOOKING AHEAD
Following Wednesday's game, Maryland returns home for a crucial ACC home series against the Boston College Eagles. The Terps will face off against BC at 7 p.m. Friday, and 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. All three games will be broadcast live by WMUC Sports. Saturday's contest can be seen live on Comcast SportsNet in the Baltimore/Washington area, while Sunday's game will be covered by ACC Select.
