The University of Maryland men's golf team begins play early Thursday morning in the 2007 NCAA East Regional Championship being played at the par-72 Lakeside Course at the Golf Club of Georgia.
Georgia Tech is serving as the host institution for the event.
Maryland is part of the 27-team field for the regional, one of three tournaments being played this weekend. The top 10 teams and two individuals not on qualifying teams will advance to the NCAA Championship to be held May 30 to June 2 at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Williamsburg, Va.
Maryland tees off Thursday at 7:47 a.m. on the first hole and will be paired with Eastern Michigan and Longwood. Friday's second round will have the Terrapins beginning on the 10th hole and the same three teams will have their first tee-time at 12:59 p.m.
Saturday's tee times are dependent on the team standings after 36 holes.
The Terrapins are making their sixth straight appearance in the postseason. Maryland finished in a tie for 20th a year ago. Senior Matt Schall will be making his fourth appearance in an NCAA regional, joining John Eades as the only Terrapins to appear in four NCAA events.
