COLLEGE PARK, MD. - The University of Maryland Golf Course will host the Fourth Annual University of Maryland Baseball Golf Classic on Friday, September 14th at 8:00 a.m. to benefit the Terrapin baseball team.

The cost for the golfer to play is only $175 per player or $700 per foursome. The event is currently seeking sponsors and golfers. Interested parties should contact Jerry Spessard (301-491-4002, jerry@gameface.com) or Head Coach Terry Rupp (301-314-7122, rrupp@umd.edu) for more information.

The registration deadline is September 7, and golfers can register using this form. Interested sponsors can find more information on sponsorship opportunities here, and can apply to sponsor events using this form.

If you send your email address to Coach Rupp, you will receive one raffle chance for two season tickets to the 2007/08 men's and women's basketball games. Raffle tickets are normally $10.00 each and can be obtained using this form.

Coach Terry Rupp recently completed his seventh season at the helm of the Maryland baseball program. He has seen seven players drafted by major league teams over the past two summers, including senior pitcher Brett Cecil who went 38th overall to the Toronto Blue Jays in last month's draft. The Terps defeated six ranked opponents in 2006, including an upset series win over sixth ranked Clemson.
